It’s that time of year again. The weather is getting warmer and there is nothing like spending time between classes sitting out in the sun and enjoying the day. Today, McKeldin mall seems like a pretty popular destination for students to relax and soak up the sun, however, Byrd Beach was the hot spot for these kinds of activities from the 1950s to the 1980s. Sunbathing at Byrd stadium quickly became a popular tradition that would be carried on for years until it was fizzled out in the late 80s. Unfortunately, I don’t think we will see the return of Byrd Beach anytime soon, but we can always hold out hope.
